The Mysteries & More Book Club meets on the 2nd Tuesday of the month to discuss great books from a variety of genres. Watch the Library's Facebook page for more details about the upcoming meeting. We will be picking future titles for the book group at upcoming meetings. If you have a title that you think would make a great discussion book, bring it to our next meeting. Deer Park Public Library's beginning Spanish class meets virtually on Wednesdays from 10 to 11 a.m. The class combines two ways of learning - practice conversation with other learners in a small group, and use of the Rosetta Stone program available on the library website. Need a moment for yourself? Our Chat and Color for Adults is a program where we offer two different time periods for anyone over the age of 18 (Or 18 and a high school graduate) to stop by, hang out and fill out a variety of beautiful coloring page designs! It's held the second Wednesday of every month between 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. and then again from 3 p.m. - 5 p.m. in the DPPL Meeting Room. Light refreshments such as tea will be provided and calming music played to help create a relaxing atmosphere. Patrons will also have the opportunity to talk about their favorite recent reads or new releases they are eagerly awaiting.
Stories and activities are designed to encourage a love for books and language, increase attention spans and develop basic social skills. Parents/caregivers are required to stay with the toddler and encourage them to participate in the program.
Preschool Storytime is recommended for children 3 1/2 - 6 years old. Storytime incorporates books, fingerplays, songs, and activities to promote interest in reading and lifelong learning. Children listen to stories and participate in group activities.
Learn how to navigate internet websites using your browser or a search engine, understand basic terminology, learn how to read search results, and try some useful internet websites. Prerequisite: none.
Get ready for some special and spooky Halloween Crafts!
We will present this program as a Take & Make with a Facebook Live at 3:30 pm AND as an In-Person event @ 4:00 pm.
This program is presented for children 5-11 years old and all materials are provided free of cost. Registration is not required.
All adults welcome as we celebrate the season by creating Autumnal wreaths! Using upcycled plastic bags, ribbon, coat hangers, and other materials patrons will be able to create their own festive door decorations. Gamers welcome! Every first and third Thursday of the month Teens are urged to stop by enjoy some snacks, and play some games! All 12 to 18 year old's currently enrolled in school are invited to hang out and play Cards Against Humanity: Family Edition, One Night Werewolf and more! Participants have the option to bring their own age appropriate games to share. Games can not have higher than a T for teen rating. Call us at 281-478-7208 ahead of time to approve the title.

This harvest season our pumpkin patch will make a huge splash! Yes, pumpkins will float! Come and take a swim and pick our your favorite pumpkin from our floating pumpkin patch. Admission includes one pumpkin per person, pumpkin decorating and 1 hour and 30 minutes of swim time. Everyone entering the pool facility, adults and children, must pay an entry fee.
