In hopes of reducing motor vehicle burglaries, signs were distributed to burglary of motor vehicle problem areas in the city that reminded drivers to lock their cars, take their keys, and hide their belongings.
The number one factor in your vehicle being burglarized in whether or not you locked your doors. The vast majority of vehicles burglarized in Deer Park are due to vehicles being unlocked; providing the thief direct access to your belonging. Please lock your doors. Also, remove any items of value from your vehicle. If you cannot remove the items from the vehicle secure them in the trunk or another part of the vehicle that can be locked.
